Remember the carefree check-in days at hotels? Things have certainly changed in our post-pandemic world of extreme hygiene. Experts recommend that before you book a hotel room, be sure to check for signs that the hotel’s cleaning standards are up to par. Is the hotel following CDC mandates, like installing hand sanitizer dispensers at the entrance and other touch points througout the hotel? Experts say wearing a face mask will help add an extra layer of protection at check-in and in hotel common areas. They also note it’s important to keep your guard up as hotels attract a wide variety of people from different areas that you do not know and who may not be showing symptoms of the coronavirus. “Another day, another travel.” Travel + Leisure recently featured married couple, Brad and Matt Kirouac, who are fully embracing travel during the pandemic by embarking on an RV tour of America’s greatest sights and national parks. The couple has already been to mutlitple parks, some of their favorites include Big Bend National Park in Texas and Biscayne National Park in Florida. In adjusting to RV life, the couple says that they had to refocus and reevaluate what’s most important to them, due to the limited space, and fully embrace what brings them the most joy. While some parks have not been as welcoming as others, that hasn’t stopped the Kirouac’s from connecting with nature and each other. This couple says that national parks serve as a neutral spaces that transcend any apparent differences we may have with our identity, background or political alignment. This realization has inspired them to build their very own comunity to celebrate national parks with everyone on their blog and podcast, “Hello Ranger.” What’s your favorite national park?
