Welcome to Gay Travel Today! I’m Teraj and I’ll be your guide as we explore, engage and indulge in the world of LGBTQ+ travel today.

I’m excited because we have a major announcement today. Virtual Pride celebrations are here and more are coming your way. There’s an amazing announcement confirming the collaboration of Miami Beach Pride, Pride Fort Lauderdale, Compass Palm Beach Pride, Wilton Manors Stonewall Pride Parade and Street Festival, and Gay 8 Festival. They’ve all come together and masterminded a festival called the “Prides of South Florida”. It’s gonna be a virtual festival fundraiser event benefiting our community in COVID-19 relief efforts. All funds raised will be donated to charity organizations related to the LGBTQ+ community dealing with complications due to the coronavirus. So mark your calendars and get ready to show your pride on May 9th and 10th and prepare for an amazing Pride event and a fantastic lineup. I’m excited to announce that I’ll be performing a couple of songs during this festival and I’ll be sharing more details with you soon. Have any of you out there ever celebrated Pride in Florida? If so, let us know on social media which city and tell us all about your fun in the “Sunshine State” Pride moment. So share it and hashtag Gay Travel Today and also hashtag Sagitravel.

124 - ENCORE- Welcome Aboard Mx

Welcome to Gay Travel Today! I’m Teraj and I’ll be your guide as we explore, engage and indulge in the world of LGBTQ+ travel today.

When booking airline tickets, most passengers are still required to specify and choose their gender, but this is slowly changing. Not too long ago in 2018, both the International Air Transport Association and Airlines for America approved amendments for booking procedures to allow for additional options for non-binary passengers. Paving the way forward, there are a few airlines in both the US and Europe that are allowing customers to identify as something other than ‘male’ or ‘female’ when booking. To take advantage of these changes within airline travel and booking procedures, you’ll need to have a gender-neutral passport or travel document. There are around a dozen US states that are now offering non-binary or ‘X’ markers on driver licenses and state ID’s. Canada’s own, Porter Airlines claims to have been the first to introduce booking options for non-binary people; while Air Italy became the first in Europe to offer a third gender option; and in March 2019, United Airlines was the first in the US to offer an ‘X’ option for those not wanting to mark themselves as ‘male’ or ‘female’ while booking travel arrangements. It also added Mx to its drop-down menu of prefixes. Have any of you out there ever booked a non-binary flight? If so, we’d love to hear about your experience on social media, so share it and hashtag Gay Travel Today and also hashtag Sagitravel.

123 - ENCORE-PDA Preferences Among Lesbians

Welcome to Gay Travel Today! I’m Teraj and I’ll be your guide as we explore, engage and indulge in the world of LGBTQ+ travel today.

Let’s talk PDA. According to GayCities.com, almost half of all lesbians feel that the most important factor in choosing a travel destination is whether or not they’ll feel comfortable holding their partner’s hand in public. And, I’m pretty sure that so many of us from the LGBTQ+ community, as a whole, feels the same way; as it’s always better to feel like we’re being celebrated instead of just tolerated. What’s your favorite LGBTQ+ friendly city where you were able to hold your partner’s hand in complete comfort? We’d love to see some photos on social media, so share it and hashtag Gay Travel Today and also hashtag Sagitravel.

122 - ENCORE- Show Your Pride

Welcome to Gay Travel Today! I’m Teraj and I’ll be your guide as we explore, engage and indulge in the world of LGBTQ+ travel today.

With the recent news of New York City joining many cities across the world that have already cancelled their Pride celebrations, it’s such a major bummer and I know so many of you out there share that same sentiment. Pride season is one of my favorite times of the year because these celebrations give us space and an opportunity to truly come together in unity and share a unique sense of camaraderie; all in the name of love because you know, love is just that “love”. Year after year, Pride has given us so much life and has uplifted so many of our spirits and it’s an important time that shines a bright light on our community. Even in the face of a time when we’re confined in our homes, I want to encourage everyone to get up, open your windows, let some light in, turn up the music, and put on your dancing shoes to celebrate Pride virtually during this 2020 season. COVID-19 may have stopped our large-scale events, but let’s not let it silence our voices and especially the spirit of pride. I encourage all of you to flood your social media feeds with your favorite pictures and videos from past pride celebrations and events or how you’re celebrating this year at home. With so many Pride celebrations across the globe, which city do you think does it best? We’d love to see somes photos or videos of you celebrating in your favorite Pride city, so share it and hashtag Gay Travel Today and also hashtag Sagitravel.

121 - ENCORE-Marry Me Buenos Aires!

Welcome to Gay Travel Today! I’m Teraj and I’ll be your guide as we explore, engage and indulge in the world of LGBTQ+ travel today.

Here’s a little insight for all the lovers out there that are planning their future nuptials. I’d like to introduce you to the most progressive country in South America, Argentina. Most people probably aren’t aware that Argentina has become one of the main destinations for the LGBTQ+ community. It’s a beautiful and diverse country where you can marry legally, officially and attain that most coveted international recognition of your marriage. And to top it off, you don’t have to be a citizen of Argentina to get your marriage license, which definitely makes it an ideal destination and wedding location for the LGBTQ+ community. Quick fact, Argentina was the first country in South America to legalize same-sex marriage and it also included full adoption rights. So prepare to live your “Casamiento Express” fantasies down in Puerto Madryn or live it up in the big city of Buenos Aires. Have you out there ever traveled to Argentina? If so, we’d would love to see a photo on social media, so share it and hashtag Gay Travel Today and also hashtag Sagitravel.
