Welcome to Gay Travel Today! I’m Teraj and I’ll be your guide as we explore, engage and indulge in the world of LGBTQ+ travel today.
The LGBTQ+ community will most likely be the first to embrace travel and safely go back to their destination-savvy status quo. A survey conducted by Harris Poll found that the LGBTQ+ appetite to return to travel outnumbered the population at large, with 51% of LGBTQ+ adults expecting to travel for vacation during 2020 versus 46% of non-LGBTQ+ adults. Even during the Memorial Day holiday last month, 8% were willing to plan travel, versus 4%. Why? Experts say there are factors such as more disposable income and discretionary time, but also travel for our community is a way for us to independant and liberated. In many ways it’s built into our culture. Traveling during this time certainly comes with its health challenges and navigating new guidlines can be difficult.
